"Experiences and relevant events from my youth growing up in the rural South are reflected in many works. In my youth I spent many hours in nature and the outdoors. The mixed media allows for layering of the art elements and the textural emphasis that I enjoy. I create through layering mixed media of various papers, a variety of paints, printmaking, photographic images, and drawings. By exploring techniques that reflect our own multifaceted lives, I hope to create works that spark the viewer's imagination!"
