Join designer Christine Terrell of adaptive reuse jewelry at Lone Star Workshop to create a personalized wall talisman from upcycled tins. The class will take place Thursday evening, November 3rd, from 6-8pm.
An amazing material to work with, tin is filled with color, patterns and imagery that’s just perfect for making into moons, hearts, hands, eyes, clouds, feathers and other ancient symbols of protection and good fortune.
All sorts of talisman pieces will be available to choose from and you’ll have a chance to make a few of your own. You’ll learn how to cut, file and finish the tin as part of the process. Once you have the perfect combo of pieces, you’ll learn how to assemble the final art into beautiful jewelry for your walls.
As we’re working on your pieces we’ll be talking about how these symbols have connected humans across time and how they inform your own personal symbolic vocabulary.
All supplies included and tools provided. We will serve complimentary refreshments.
